Love Bridge – A Romantic Symbol of Da Nang

Located on Tran Hung Dao Street, in Son Tra District, on the eastern side of the Han River, the Love Bridge sits between the Dragon Bridge and Han River Bridge. This prime location offers visitors stunning views of the city from multiple angles. Opened to the public in 2015, the bridge features a graceful curved design inspired by famous love bridges from Italy, France, Russia, and Germany. It serves as a meaningful destination where couples can symbolize their eternal love through the ritual of attaching love locks.

Unique Design and Meaning of the Love Bridge

Spanning 68 meters, the Love Bridge is often likened to a soft ribbon draped over the poetic Han River. While its length may be modest, the bridge captivates visitors with its charm and special significance. It has become a unique emblem of love in the heart of Da Nang.

At night, the bridge transforms into a dazzling and magical sight, with its lights reflecting on the water, creating an unforgettable romantic ambiance. Nearby, visitors can enjoy the Happy Yacht – a vessel inspired by the movie Titanic. Here, they can sip on expertly crafted drinks while taking in breathtaking views of the Dragon Bridge, Han River Bridge, and Thuan Phuoc Bridge.

Love Locks Without Keys

The tradition of love locks originates from Italy and France, symbolizing an unbreakable bond between two people. At the Love Bridge, visitors can bring their own locks or purchase them from nearby vendors, with prices ranging from 70,000 to 250,000 VND. These heart-shaped locks are often engraved with the couple’s names, and the keys are thrown away as a testament to an everlasting love.

Heart-Shaped Lanterns

Adding to the romantic atmosphere, the bridge is adorned with lanterns shaped like hearts, enhancing its charm. Many restaurants and cafés in the city have also adopted this symbol to celebrate love and loyalty. The Carp Turning into Dragon Statue
Next to the bridge stands the Carp Turning into Dragon statue, a spiritual icon symbolizing luck and success. The image of the carp leaping over the dragon gate also serves as a reminder of resilience, perseverance, and the determination to overcome challenges. Additionally, it reflects Da Nang’s harmony between modernity and the preservation of cultural traditions, inspiring both locals and visitors alike.
